What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

The item upgrader adds a new widget at the top of the Angel and Cash Upgrade windows. The Manager is priced at 33 billion Angel Investors and offers no gameplay benefit aside from making it easier to see and purchase upgrades.

Boosters

With an upgrader for items you will be able to enjoy many bonuses. These can include stats, as well as additional bonuses. These bonuses can be used on armor, weapons and trinkets. They can be used to boost the abilities of a character, or they can add an additional aspect of variety to the build.

Certain upgrades also give a secondary random boost in addition to stat boosts. These boosts are extremely beneficial and should be considered when deciding which items to upgrade. Some boosts are useful in specific builds (such Whistan's shield, for FB sorcs) while others can bring a great deal of value to certain collectors.

Some items have an inherent boos that are less effective when upgraded, like the Goldwrap which provides additional slots for potion. They are often upgraded to add more value to a nearly perfect item.

Costs

Upgrades come with certain costs associated with them. The first is the cost to perform the upgrade. The cost is based on the new ilvl of the item and the number of perks it receives, and can be expensive. Upgrades to a higher level (such as Explorer to Champion or Veteran to Heroic) can be costly.

The other is the cost of the materials required to upgrade. These items are typically Power Dices (dropped from monsters 21+), Minerals and Erons, or specific Mists Of Pandaria or Warlords Of Draenor Quests. These items can be found in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.

Upgrading an item upgrades is complicated and takes time. It can take up to 8 hours, depending on the size of an upgrade. The upgraded item's base stats are calculated using the item upgrading's new ilvl, perks, and other properties. This calculation determines the new Armor Class bonuses, damage dice, as well as other important stats. In some cases the upgrade will provide additional benefits that can be chosen from a variety of perks.

In rare instances, the upgrade will replace only the highest-costing benefits. Sometimes, the upgrader will make other modifications to an item, for example, changing the damage type of a weapon or or removing an unwieldy or operative property. These modifications are based on an item's ilvl and may require special materials, such as Adamantine.

Success Rate

It is also possible to add a range of additional items to the upgrade, which increases its chance of success. These are displayed in a window that is above the + button. There are a few limitations. The maximum amount of material you can upload is shown directly above the + button.

Another way to increase the odds of an upgrade succeeding is by using an item called the Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version of it. This item is helpful when you own a weapon or piece of equipment that is at the maximum level for its tier, or is close to it. This item level upgrade will allow you upgrade the equipment to the next tier without risking its breaking.

If an upgrade is unsuccessful, it will be reverted to its original state. This is usually an error, but it could also be an upgrade. It is a good idea to save an upgrade when you're near the maximum capacity of an item, and then use it as an option last resort.

Kafra has a number of products that can be utilized to increase the chance of an upgrade being successful. You can increase the chances of success by upgrading equipment several times using HD Oridecon and HD Elunium. The chance of success will be enhanced if you boost your chances of receiving a Double Mint by Shoe-Minting five times.

Failure Rate

You must have the proper number of cores before you can do an upgrade. Once you have them, click the button next to the item you wish to upgrade. The upgrade window will display a percentage indication of your success chances. The percentage is based on the upgrade level of the item and the type you have chosen.

You can also choose an item that is protected by a safeguard your item in the event of failure. This protection isn't free however, the cost will be less than the cost of a new item. The safeguard is only available once each upgrade, and it is not a valid expiry date unless it is re-used.

The interface for the item upgrader can be a bit difficult, but it's not impossible to navigate. The main menu is located on the left and the upgrade window is displayed on the right. The arrows to the left side of the UI represent the various phases of the upgrade process. Click the question mark icon to receive help if you are unsure what you're doing.
