Albums

The discography of American rock band Toto includes 13 studio albums, four live albums, and several compilations. Toto has released original music and collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. Toto has won numerous Grammy Awards for their work.

Before Toto was formed The members of the band performed session work for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session drummer Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs 1975 album Silk Degrees. The collaboration led to the formation of Toto in the year 1976.

The third album of Toto, Turn Back, marked a departure from the more progressive sound of their previous albums and was criticized for its absence of hit singles. In 1985 the group's singer Fergie Fredericksen left the group, and they held auditions to find a new frontman. The band chose guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in 1986.

Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to mark its 20th anniversary. The group went through old recordings and tapes to create the special record. The album was well-received by fans and Toto embarked on an extensive tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

Shem von Schröck took over Leland Sklar as drummer on the tour for the 40 Trips Around the Sun album. In 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included recordings from the tour as well as an interview with the group.
