These devices include but aren't only chains, locks, padlocks, wedges, adapter pins, and self-locking fasteners. Each device is identified and labeled with the date and time that it was used, the name and title of the person who is authorized, and the purpose of the lockout or tagout (repairs maintenance, repairs, etc.). It should be clear that these devices are not able to be removed until a full LOTO procedure has been carried out.
