Turn Back, the band's third studio album it was an attempt to return to the traditional sextet style, and it was a more consistent, more powerful album with a sharper edge. Its more punk-rock sound was a reflection of the maturation of the group and featured drummer Bobby Kimball's increased ability on the drums and a more mature, confident vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams.
