Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. A random extra substat is also added to each upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as important for those with lower requirements because of the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

The cost of upgrading will depend on the current level of the item being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than buying new gear from other sources. For example, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that can be used to improve the quality of weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. They are purchased by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be applied to any weapon or tool using an The button will display the preview of an item's next upgrade level in the event that there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the item slot and current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item level upgrade is upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.

Using these new currencies isn't too difficult, but the system does introduce some changes to the overall upgrade process. Once a piece of gear has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it will no longer require Flightstones. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest possible level on all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

Another notable modification is that crests have one purpose, so it's important to use them properly. It's best to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the best gear that you can find, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, that will be able to avail the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
