WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you an increase in certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. A random substat is also added to every upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees more value in trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect model.

Crests

This change lets players upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

Another significant change is that crests only have one usage and it's crucial to use them properly. It is recommended to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is especially applicable to rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which will only be able to benefit from the account-wide discount when all slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
