Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet mess (spills, staining) in one time without the need to change devices. They can also save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bins and fill up their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads using an appropriate dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has plenty to offer for its modest price, and it's one of the most simple robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you running with a clean, complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in a matter of minutes.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that mops up a storm and also vacuums well. The mops are spun at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app which lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.

For instance, you could choose to have the robot vacuum that vacuums and mops clean up the living and kitchen areas but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. The only drawback is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed. However looking at the history of cleaning on the app will tell you exactly what the robot completed, where it's traveling, and what obstacles it has encountered or avoided.

The docking station features an LCD display that shows the time when maintenance is required for cleaning up debris and washing the water tank that is dirty. It is also able to mix detergent into the tank in a controlled manner with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time as well, with the mop being able to operate for 184 minutes in Quiet mode, while the vacuum is able to do 136 minutes in normal mode, before having to recharge or return to the base to replenish. You can also view the full cleaning details in the app, which is intuitively laid out and easily understood although we would have liked to be able to differentiate between a mop only vacuum and mop and vacuum clean when looking at a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's flagship robot vacuum and mop, is the most up-to-date version. The model of this year features two agitators built into its mopping pad. This improves the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to pick up small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners may be unable to pick up.

Like the other two Roborock models I've tried, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to helps to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they are a wall or another type of surface. It will then automatically alter its path and clean around them without missing a beat.

It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek angular design is striking, and it only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which also resumes the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles as a child-lock and a home button to bring the robot cleaner to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin automatically refills.

The only downside I've found with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. You can replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's a challenge to take the mount off to wash it manually. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and could cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery life and maintain your components. You'll need to jump through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop equipped with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its clever design permits customised and efficient cleaning while reducing time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up dry debris, including pet hair and crumbs. It also comes with a top-quality mop that leaves floors spotlessly clean, even without a wet pad. Additionally, the X40 is very quiet during it's operation, producing only occasional bursts of noise when switching between modes or when completing self-maintenance tasks.

The X40 also has a side brush that can be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture with curved edges like chairs and table legs. The best robot vacuum and mop is also able to reach under furniture with low profile, making it an excellent option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush also automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots. This is a nice addition that helps the X40 avoid damaging floors with excessive back-and-forth movements.

Contrary to other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can vacuum and mop simultaneously. It can also be programmed to avoid areas with carpet and mop only hard floors or reverse the process. It can be controlled using the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple to use and intuitive The X40 has many smart features that are simple to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, switch modes, view floor plans and maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and has numerous features which make it a good choice for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, then refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It will also tell you whether the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation prior to it bursting.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end best robot vacuum cleaner and mop that is among the most expensive available, but it packs in many additional features that set it apart. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub that makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to clean floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and it comes with the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, small dirt particles, and clean up spills and dirt-stained spots.

The mop mops are cleaned and dried at the base station every time they are used. This is a great feature as it stops the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in the storage area, and it also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuum and mop models, and it could be a great method to keep your home clean for longer.

There's a plethora of options available that include the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and adjust a number of different preferences. The app lets you set these preferences or utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and has a lot of options for customizing the cleaning routine, and there are numerous features that other robots don't have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of using an individual setting.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design that has a white-and-metallic look that looks elegant and sophisticated. It is a little heavier at 4kg than the other robots listed on this list, but it's still not a lot of weight. It feels solid and well-constructed. Mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mops work well on hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
