World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

Upgrades to items allow players to boost the gear score of an Best item upgrader to 700, and then add a final perk. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you take them to the Kiln.

Certain items can be upp'd to benefit from their unique stats (like perfect broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) while other items, such as weapons don't change much post upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats such as crit chance, attack damage PvE and PvP damage. Weapons also come with a flat bonus that increases their damage per second. Some weapons also come with an unaffected bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a single unit. In some cases this bonus could add up to more than the amount of damage that a weapon is able to upgrade on its own.

The cost of upgrading a weapon is based on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For instance, an upgrade to a +2 weapon requires two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will increase until it needs an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.

Upgrades to weapons also reroll the stats of the base. While this is generally beneficial, it can have some negative consequences as well. In the case of items that only see use in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB Sorcs, for example), upgrading them may render them unusable unless you happen to have an extremely lucky roll.

Armor items can be upgraded to boost their effectiveness. In the case of chests or helms, it will boost the defense of its base, while a belt and gloves will improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it can sometimes reroll down to a lower value.

The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading, as well as the relative values of those stats. This means that a weapon will gain an attack damage of 3% if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will hit for 3 fewer times, since it is an absolute statistic.

Rerolling a weapon is also possible by pressing the green button within the item upgrader kit menu, using the arrows that circle. This will roll an item and change its statistics, but not reset the weapon's level or bind it to account status.

Armor

Making a few improvements to your armor can make a an enormous difference in your capacity to withstand. Certain sets can offer massive increases in resistance to curses, poison fire, magic, and other. This can make it easier to get through difficult terrains. In general, the greater defense you have on your character, the greater health you will receive from each point. Therefore, it's a good idea to upgrade your armor.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains in the game and to unlock them all, you must complete a side quest that involves the Stable Trotters. Once you've completed the main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.

The amount of material needed to upgrade each piece of armor will differ. In general, you'll need at anywhere between three Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, for example, can be upgraded to an increase of 5 defense rating, which allows you to stay ahead in cold environments with a large number of adversaries. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other side, can be upgraded as high as +20 defense, which means you can survive a raid with friends.

You can't upgrade your armor like weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor to increase physical strength or the power of spells. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades for armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you use for the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

You can also get some perks for your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll generally want to save these upgrades for the weapon that you'll use to beat the game. For instance the Longsword or Battleaxe. But it's useful to have some upgrades for the armor on your chest and helmets to let you get around a few monsters.

Potions

Potions are substances in bottles that, if consumed, give the user a temporary status effect. There are five types of potions that have different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to enhance their level of effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by including glowstone dust and redstone.

Upgrades to your potion require a specific amount XP. This can be earned by making them on a table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The cost of upgrading varies based on the type of potion as well as the item upgrade's rarity as well as Mark Level.

To upgrade a potion, right-click on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This opens a GUI in which you can select the potions you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll produce when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at once, and their XP will be added to the total XP you currently have.

Once a potion has been upgraded, it will not be degraded until you re-use it, or break the bottle it's stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to rename it.

Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the way potions are used. The table of potions has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, for instance, the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket could be an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece jewelry. It could also refer to a piece of art or a decoration that serves a purpose, but isn't particularly significant like a tiny thimble. In some cultures a trinket can be used to show affection or friendship between family members.

In addition to armor, weapons and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. These can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Unlike other item upgrades, trinkets can be swapped out at will without losing their status.

The upgrade items vendors are located in major cities and in the capital of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets.

Upgrading a trinket is a cost-effective alternative to purchasing new ones. It can be done by players for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same level of base as the old trinket however, it will also come with an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.

Trinkets can be re-upgraded once they are no longer needed and allows players to increase their power and value over time. They can be traded between players, making them an alternative to gold.

In general players should make upgrades to their most important items first. This typically means the top-of-the-line items for their class, then their secondaries, and finally other gear items that they will not be replacing soon (for instance an earring or cloak). It is also important to consider your class's preferred stats when selecting the items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to tank players, then they should upgrade their chest, helm, and shoulders.

After they've become unusable trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The upgraded trinket will give you an additional bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade will destroy the old trinket, unless it is salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or a higher-tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades, but still cheaper than buying an entirely new trinket.
