It's also prone to become stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people well during our tests. It also doesn't come with cameras that let it see the corners of an area.

Still, it's very good robot vacuum, especially if you want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a bare-floored home or office. It's also very quiet and can be used while you are at work or at school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying dock, though. If you're required to, the mopping pad can be swapped for a wet one in minutes.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can sweep floors. It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically emptys into its base, and also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after it vacuums, a feature that hasn't been seen in other robot vacuum/mop combinations.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

This robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular design that looks much like a Roomba unit than the boxy models of the competitors. It's one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's also the only robotic vacuum or mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to a mix of high-tech sensors including a structured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can completely self-refill and empty its base station and boasts an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot vacuum and mop. It has a number of features that are advanced and will make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device, similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum and fills up the water tank, as well as washes and drys the mop pads.
