WoW Upgrades - The item upgrading Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item upgrades by +3. A random extra substat is also added to each upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as important for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.

The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear current it is recommended you visit the upgrader each several weeks.

Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item, however they'll always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item level upgrade, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items which can be used to level up weapons tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor with a The button will display the preview of an item's next upgrade level when there are enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currency types.

Upgraders for items can be found in a variety of locations including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The use of these currencies isn't that difficult however, the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest level possible on all of their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests with care, since they have only one purpose. It is best to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment that you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is especially true for items such as rings and trinkets that occupy several slots. The account-wide discount will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
